We got invited on a friend’s Green River Desolation Canyon trip. This is an 85-mile (136-km) river trip through a very large wilderness in eastern Utah. We floated the river in 7 days in August, 2020.
It was hot and the water was low, but the campsites, pictograph panels, scenery, and the companionship of friends on the river were all excellent.
For this trip we got our new (30-year old) 16 ft. (5 m.) Hyside cataraft and started equipping it for future adventures. This was her maiden voyage (with us at least). Looking forward to many more river adventures!
